There are risk factors in the in the external environment that pose a threat not only to ARLP, but also share holders. These risk factors include;
• The amount of coal available on ARLP’s properties,
• Weather conditions,
• Proximity to and capacity of transportation facilities,
• Domestic and foreign governmental regulations, and taxes,
• Price and availability of alternative fuels,
• The effect of worldwide energy consumptions, and
• Economic conditions.
